False alarm sees firefighters called to Watford sheltered housing complex

Firefighters were called to a suspected blaze at a sheltered housing complex last night when its alarm malfunctioned.

One crew from Watford Fire Station rushed to the Rutland Lodge complex, in Nascot Road, at about 6.15pm but did have to take further action.

Nobody was injured and an evacuation of the 31 flats was not required.
