A Bushey resident who died of pneumonia earlier this year also had a type of cancer usually connected to asbestos exposure, an inquest heard today.
However, coroner Edward Thomas said there was “no evidence” that James Franklin, of Birchville Court, had actually been in contact with the fibrous fire retardant.
Although Mr Franklin had cleaned carbon tanks as part of his job, the inquest heard he had no definite contact with asbestos.
Mr Thomas said the 73-year-old died of pneumonia and mesothelioma on September 1 this year.
