A club created to help people with severe learning difficulties is to host a series of exciting events over the coming month, all in the spirit of Christmas.
The Monday Club, a registered charity, was first formed in 1988 and created so that anyone with learning difficulties could meet up locally once a week and enjoy a social meeting place.
On Monday, December 7, members will be invited to take part in the club’s “Xmas disco”, while the following week they will be asked to the “Xmas party” on December 14.
Breaking from the Monday tradition, on Friday, December 11, members and helpers will go to Waters Theatre in Rickmansworth to see Snow White.
Chairman John Fisher, said: “We are now in our 21st year and still going strong.
“Fundraising is very important to our club and for its survival for years to come.
“We have been very luck to have had the support over the years and so many organisations and individuals have done so much for us.”
Club meetings are held on Monday evenings from 7-9pm at the Abbots Langley community centre. Members are required to pay 50p per visit.
To join the Monday club or for further information on their programme, telephone John Fisher on: 07963 505 978 or email: johnfisheremail@googlemail.com.
