A scout group in north Watford has started its Christmas celebrations with its annual carol service.
Yesterday evening, more than 150 people turned out in force to support the singing of the 9th North Watford Scout Group, in Hope Green, Leavesden.
Led by Canon Dick Lewis, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and parents sang a range of traditional Christmas carols, interspersed with short performances by each of the sections. The event was also attended by councillors Tony Poole and Ellie Burtenshaw.
Jonathan Hawes, group scout leader, said: “The evening was very well attended and really enjoyable.
“At the end of the evening Cubs Joshua Robinson, Matthew Hoare, Ryan Burgess and Anfernee Walkes, were presented with their silver Chief Scout’s Award.
“Joshua was also recognised for his commitment to the scout group and local community, and presented with the Chairman’s Award.”
