M25 near Bricket Wood closed for more than seven hours yesterday


A LORRY carrying tarmac was involved in the crash with a jack-knifed lorry on the M25 yesterday.

The motorway between Junctions 22 (St Albans) and 21a (M1/Bricket Wood was closed for more than six hours.

One pump from St Albans Fire Station was called to the scene along with three ambulance crews at about 11.30am.

It is believed two cars and a lorry carrying tarmac crashed into the jack-knifed lorry causing severe chaos for other motorists - many were stuck on the carriageway for more than six hours.

One man was rushed to Watford General Hospital with minor injuries and the driver of the jack-knifed lorry escaped injury.

Hertfordshire Constabulary is aappealing for anyone who witnessed the crash to telephone 0845 330 0222.
