Donations wanted for swap shop at Meriden Community Centre, Watford

Unwanted clothes, toys and household items are wanted as donations for a swap shop hosted each week at the Meriden Community Centre.

The swap shop, which began six weeks ago, invites residents from across Watford to leave their unloved goods, except electrical appliances, and take home an item left by someone else.

There is also a board on the wall where swappers can leave details of larger items that are available.

No money is exchanged, unless visitors would like to buy a cup of tea or coffee from the coffee shop at the centre in Garsmouth Way.

Centre manager Yvonne Pick said: “Anything anyone wants to bring, they can bring in.”

The swap shop is held between 10am and noon each Tuesday morning.
