Law firm takes up deep vein thrombosis claims

4:52pm Thursday 15th April 2004

A WATFORD law firm is representing more than 30 people who have launched a massive compensation claim against British Airways over the issue of Deep Vein Thrombosis.

Collins Solicitors in Station Road has taken up the case, which involves seven British Airways passengers who died or claim their lives were impaired after contracting the illness.

DVT is a blood clot which develops when movement is restricted.

If clots reach the lungs or brain they can prove fatal.

The condition has been highly publicised in recent years, with airlines now issuing advice on how to avoid the condition to air passengers.
