Residents of Storey Court and Barley Close were treated to Christmas carols yesterday

An elderly audience braved freezing winds and snow to attend a festive carol concert yesterday.

Residents from Storey Court and Barley Close were brought together at 2.30pm for an hour of traditional songs, readings and a performance of “The Oxen” by Thomas Hardy.

Sister Diana Burton, from St Peter's Church in Bushey, said: “Around 20 people came to the concert despite the snow and ice outside."
