Members of the Bedmond Women's Institute held a festive December meeting

Bedmond Women's Institute held a “very seasonal” December meeting.

The aroma of mulled wine and the sound of carols kept business to a minimum, but a letter was read from a neighbouring institute from New Zealand.

Keith Baldwin, guest speaker, spoke about Christmas from the points of view of various famous characters such as George Bernard Shaw, Charles Dickens, Roy Castle and Dylan Thomas.

The next meeting will be held on Friday, January 8 2010, where a selection of poems and readings will be performed by members.
