Liberal Democrat treasury spokesman Vince Cable will hold a question and answer session in Watford next week

A public question and answer session featuring Liberal Democrat treasury spokesman Vince Cable will be held in Watford next week.

Mr Cable will take questions on Thursday January 7, from 7.30pm at Beechen Grove Church, in Clarendon Road, Watford.

Lib Dem prospective MP for Watford Sal Brinton said: “Vince has been hailed as one of the few people to have warned about the impending recession.

“His background as Shell's economist has meant that Vince is one of very few politicians who really understands and can explain the economy.

“I'm delighted that he can come to Watford and look forward to hearing him speaking and answering people's questions.”

A limited number of tickets are available. For details telephone 01923 238552 or send an email vincetickets@watfordlibdems.org.uk.

Perhaps he'll tell the gathering how Sal's Lib Dems plan to put the Tories into power if there is no overall majority at the next election. It's Labour here in Watford again, or the Tories get in - simple as that.

Steve is right - google Vince Cable quotes - Here is one

"If the pendulum swings, it may swing to a combination of Conservatives and Liberal Democrats and, thus, to a period of minority government or coalition, in some form".

And in supportting the Tories, we know from Hansard that George Osbourne has not a clue!
Here is what the shadow Chancellor said just before the credit crunch started:

“Regulation . . . inhibits enterprise. For example, speak to any business in financial services—from the largest investment bank to the smallest independent financial adviser—and the threat of future regulation from Whitehall and Brussels is now their number one concern.”
The Lib Dems would suipport a right wing Tory government , who want to cut controls on business and slash public spending,- not a message that will go down well in Watford among Liberal Democrat voters!

To say that Vince Cable is mediocre is an understatement.Just WHEN did he forecast the credit crunch?Certainly not before well informed financial sources did so.But Vince believes whatever the Lib Dem propaganda press prints, rather than engaging his brain before uttering his solutions for the Western World's self created problems. He should realise that it is not enough to waffle on what people want to hear but to be sensible and it wouldn't hurt to be honest.By doing so he would have no need to do the favourite Lib Dem trick of performing u-turns.Unfortunatel
y he is another has been living in a fantasy world. All he is good at is sniping at the major parties knowing he won't have to deliver.Enjoy your day in our Town,Vince, but spare us from any of your Party's daft proposals, and don't try to come over as an elder statesman, because you are a million miles from being that.
