Footballer-turned-actor Vinnie Jones is tonight settling down for his first night in the Celebrity Big Brother house.

Watford-born Jones, who most famously played for Wimbledon before moving to Hollywood, joined 11 other housemates for the series set at Elstree Film Studios, not far from his former Bedmond home.

Unless evicted by the public before the show's finale, he will spend the next 27 days inside the house, with his every move recorded by 50 surveillance cameras and 25 microphones.

And Jones - who has appeared in films such as Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, and Swordfish – is already the bookmakers' favourite to win the last celebrity version of the reality show.

Also appearing on the Channel 4 show, presented by Davina McCall, are actor Stephen Baldwin, glamour model Nicola T, singer Sisqo, rapper Lady Sovereign, actress Stephanie Beacham, former Hollywood 'madam' Heidi Fleiss, Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood's ex-girlfriend Ekaterina Ivanova, DJ Basshunter, singer Dane Bowers and cage fighter Alex Reid.
