Three Rivers District Council's public consultation on Killingdown Farm has been criticised by a residents' association

A residents' association has criticised Three Rivers District Council's consultation over an acrimonious development in Croxley Green.

The Watford Observer reported last October how up to 160 new homes could be squeezed into a green field site on Killingdown Farm.

Three Rivers District Council opened public consultation on the development, earmarked for the farm site in Little Green Lane, and five others.

The council say that a questionnaire was sent to all homes and businesses in Three Rivers, and the consultation was announced in the Watford Observer.

The on-line questionnaire was also available and has been advertised on the front page of the website.

Croxley Green residents' association criticised the “inadequate” consultation, saying that unless the reader was a “Three Rivers Times enthusiast” they were unlikely to find the questionnaire.

Councillor Martin Trevett, Three River's cabinet member for the environment, said: "We've had a record number of responses to the consultation.

“We would like to thank all the residents associations in Three Rivers for their active support in making sure that people's voices are heard.”

The plans are part of a wider scheme to introduce 900 new homes in the area over the next 15 years in order and meet government targets.

Croxley Green residents' association will be handing out questionnaires on Winton Drive at 6.15pm to 8.15pm tonight.

Residents have until midnight on Friday to return the questionnaire and the residents' association are urging people to complete it.
