Funding boost for Croxley Green neighbourhood watch

Croxley Green’s neighbourhood watch members have been given a £250 funding boost.

Three Rivers Neighbourhood Watch was awarded the cash by County Councillor Steve Drury £250 – who, like all other county councillors, has been given £10,000 to spend directly in his community.

The organisation will use the grant to meet the cost of room hire and publicity material.

Councillor Drury, said: “Neighbourhood Watch helps to bring the community together. I was pleased to be able to offer my support to the organisation.”

Good use of money - strange though that neighbour watches seem to have dried up in Watford. I expect that this is because of the fact that the fear of crime has plummeted since the 1990's - meaning fewer volunteers are around to administer the schemes.

If you visit the NHW website then you will see that CroxleyGsouth and Byewaters have active nhwatches but CroxleyGNorth where mr dury lives has not.
