Residents from a nursing home in Watford will be lining up for the starter's gun at an OAP's pancake race next month.
Rob Bartley, activities organiser, said: “It's the first time we've done it, we usually make pancakes on Shrove Tuesday and this year I thought we could do a race too.”
The event takes place at Colne House, River Court Nursing Home, on February 16, and will raise money for Cancer Research UK.
The care home joins 50 others across the UK in organising ‘golden oldies’ pancake races.
Silvia Shillingford, activity co-ordinator for Hill House Care Centre in Elstree, said: “We’re trying to get as many residents as possible involved.
"Everyone else will be cheering us on and we’ll also be donning our aprons, choosing our favourite pancake fillings and sampling them all to round off the party.”
