Watford Grammar School for Girls hosts Holocaust memorial event

A Holocaust memorial service was held at Watford Grammar School for Girls.

Organised by headteacher Helen Hyde last week, the event featured guest speaker Zigi Shipper, a Lodz Ghetto and Auschwitz survivor as the main speaker, and Rabbi Paul Freedman of Radlett and Bushey Reform Synagogue, to recite the prayers for the departed.

There was also music and readings by sixth formers at the school, in Lady's Close.

Mrs Hyde said: “The rightful remembrance of recent atrocities in Darfur, Rwanda and Cambodia should not let us forget the terror of the Holocaust.”

it would be nice if Ms Hyde would acknowledge the Gaza attrocity, after all the UN has.

Ethnic cleansing is Palestine should be her next debate.
