A licensing meeting to discuss plans to reopen a disused pub in Watford town centre has been adjourned.
Enterprise Inns plc has submitted a proposal to relaunch the Artichoke pub, in The Parade.
However, it was heavily criticised by police, who have attributed an increase in violent crime in the town centre to its bars and clubs.
Two letters of objection were also received by Watford Borough Council from local residents.
The meeting, due to be held tomorrow, has now been adjourned to allow more time for negotiations between police, residents and Enterprise Inns.
