My First Day

Link road presentation

A PUBLIC meeting to discuss plans for a proposed link road connecting the Watford and Croxley industrial parks to Tolpits Lane will take place on Tuesday.

The meeting will give members of the public an opportunity to air their views on the proposed new link road.

Representatives from Three Rivers District Council and Hertfordshire County Council will be present at the meeting, which takes place at 7.30pm at Three Rivers House, Northway, Rickmansworth.

Councillor for Croxley Green North, Chris Lloyd, said: "The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the implications of the proposed development. The public need to know about it. We want people to come we need to know their views and concerns."

Under the Hertfordshire Highways proposal, a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) link road will connect Watford and Croxley industrial parks to Tolpits Lane, which, according to critics, could lead to a massive increase in traffic.

The proposed link comprises a new road to be constructed across the Ebury Way to join Caxton Way to Dwight Road, which will connect the industrial park and Tolpits Lane.

The proposal has already caused conflict. Some think the link should be open to all and others want it restricted to HGVs.

A spokesman for Hertfordshire Highways said: "We are trying to resolve those issues and find a way forward."

The meeting will include a short presentation by the applicant, Hertfordshire County Council, and a question and answer session.
