There will be two new Special Constables walking the beat in Abbots Langley in the coming months.
At a parish council meeting yesterday evening, temporary Chief Superintendent for the Western Area, Iain McVie, revealed plans for the new officers to start patrolling the village in May.
He said: “Two Special Constables will be selected for training with Hertfordshire Police and Abbots Langley officers in March, progressing to patrols in May.
“These types of officers have become a familiar sight on our streets, acting as a link between the public and the police force and dealing with local problems that matter to local people."
