Julian Winter confirmed he has not spoken to Graham Simpson since he left the club but expects Watford's former chairman to “do the right thing” when he sells his shares.
Simpson resigned as chairman before the Hornets EGM in December 2008 but still holds a 16.79 per cent stake in parent company Watford Leisure Plc.
Winter said: “I have not been in dialogue with Graham since he left the club. I think what underpins Graham is that he is a fan of the club and I think he will do the right thing for the club, in terms of selling his shares.
“I think the majority shareholders Valley Grown Salads, Lord Ashcroft and Graham are all of the mind to sell their shares to the right person for Watford.”
