Tributes have been left outside the former workplace of murder victim Gary Bennett.
Mr Bennett, a refuse collector for Watford Borough Council, was found with severe head injuries in Aldenham Country Park on Wednesday, February 24.
Flowers and messages of condolence were tied to the metal fence outside the Wiggenhall Depot, in Wiggenhall Road, and more messages have been left on this site by shocked friends and relatives.
One said: “I didn't know Gary well but you always knew when he was about.
"With his big voice and his big heart he was a one-off.
"My thoughts go to his family as I know they are struggling without him.
"I'll miss you and your hat Gary, Watford is too quiet without you.”
Police are following a line of inquiry that Mr Bennett knew his killer.
If you have any information call the incident room on 01707 355959 or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
