A concert in aid of the Haiti Earthquake Appeal, which was put together in less than six weeks, has raised just under £2,800 in total.
Conductor and organiser of the Messiah 4 Haiti concert, David Meacock, said he was inspired to organise the event by the 4,000 Haiti survivors who had to have limbs amputated.
David Meacock, conductor and organiser of the event, said: “I'd like to say a huge thank you very much to everyone who supported this event.
“Adding in some post-concert donations and additional Gift Aid has increased the total we all raised together to just under £2,800.
"Not only did we raise this goodly sum, we also had a great afternoon and night of music-making culminating in a performance which I believe many a choral society would have been proud.”
Almost 100 singers from local choirs performed Handel's Messiah at St Clement Danes School, Chorleywood on Saturday, March 6.
