A shop owner in Radlett has fallen victim to thieves after designer clothes were stolen from his store for a second time.
Four white males entered the Injeanious shop in Watling Street with two checkered laundry bags, filling them with pairs of True Religion jeans, shirts and hooded tops on Friday, March 5.
When the male shop owner attempted to alert the police with his mobile phone, it was wrestled from him by one of the thieves, who then pulled the main landline cable out of the wall.
The suspects, described as being aged between 18 and 30, are believed to have London accents and were all wearing hats. CCTV footage of the thieves in action has been released.
Police believe it is possible this crime is linked to an earlier incident at the same shop on Monday, February 15, at about 3.20pm, where four men entered the shop, selected four pairs of designer jeans and made off with them concealed under their jackets.
Detective Constable Laura Chillingworth said: “We are appealing to anyone who saw anything suspicious or has any information about either of these crimes.
“On the second occasion, the offenders have entered the shop carrying these laundry bags and have brazenly just started loading the bags up with clothing off the shelves.
“Did you see them hanging around prior to the incident or leaving the shop with the bags? Or have you been offered designer clothing, particularly these ‘True Religion’ jeans at a bargain price or in suspicious circumstances?
“These two incidents have understandably left the shop owner very shaken and upset.”
