A runner will perform a lap of honour at Vicarage Road Stadium this afternoon after completing four marathons in 24 hours.
Richard Kell, 38, began the challenge yesterday afternoon, when he left Peterborough United's London Road Stadium and headed for Stadium:MK, home of the MK Dons.
From there, he ran to Barnet FC's Underhill ground, and then onto the home of Watford Football Club.
He is due to reach Vicarage Road ahead of this afternoon's match between the Hornets and Peterborough.
Richard's four-marathon challenge is part his bid to raise £1 million for Help for Heroes.
Last year he took part in a 10k race and cross country event, and has already completed one marathon this year.
And following the '4ootball marathon', Richard, from Letchworth Garden City in Hertfordshire, hopes to finish a further seven marathons before March 2011.
Katherine McGrory, Richard's girlfriend who is following his progress, said: “He's keen to support them [Help for Heroes] and really give something back.”
