O Level Arithmetic

It took me 3 years to get my O Level Arithmetic ( down here you call them GCSE`s ), it`s not that I couldn`t do it, just that the exam was always 30 minutes too short.

Just in case you`d missed the garages full of flowers and the supermarket adverts for lunch for 4 for £15 I thought I`d remind you that Sunday is Mothering Sunday, which in turn means it`s 3 weeks until Easter.

Bet you didn`t know that, I mean the bit about Mother`s Day always being 3 weeks before Easter.

Anyhoo, back to business which in our case means gearing up for the busiest day of the year.

This year I incentivised early bird bookings by offering a 10% discount for those who prepaid and pre-ordered their meals before March 7th.

This gave me a bit of money upfront to do the shopping but more importantly information on which to base the shopping decisions

So here`s where my O Level Arithmetic comes in

I have pre-orders for 30 customers which I reckon represents a quarter of what we`ll do on the day, so I then multiply the number of roast beef, grilled salmon etc by 4 and go out and do the shopping, easy when you know how…..

However I never did get round to getting my O Level Maths and I`ve just spent an hour finishing a matrix of a table plan for the day and discovered that we still have a couple of tables free

So if anybody out there is looking for a table for 4 or 6 between 12 and 1230 get in touch ……………. or I`ll be eating salmon for the rest of the week
