Conservative candidate Dan Wood has been elected to Dacorum Borough Council


The Conservative party has increased its stronghold on Dacorum Borough Council.

Following a by-election held on Thursday, Conservative candidate Dan Wood was elected Councillor for Hemel Hempstead’s Adeyfield West ward, replacing Councillor Keith Reid who died in December.

The results were as follows:

Janet Dorothy Price, British National Party 203 votes

Steve Wilson, Liberal Democrats 362 votes

Sue White, Labour 429 votes

Dan Wood, Conservative 486 votes

Voting turnout was 35.83 per cent.

The composition of Dacorum Borough Council by political parties stands at 44 Conservative Councillors, five Liberal Democrat Councillors, and two Labour Councillors.
