Teenagers from Bushey and Radlett invited to join police cadets

Potential police cadets from Bushey and Radlett are being invited to sign up for the launch of a new scheme in the area.

Teenagers living in the Hertsmere district with an interest in the police and who enjoy outdoor activities are encouraged to join the first ever Hertsmere Volunteer Police Cadets.

Boys and girls, aged between 13 and 18, can apply to join the group though spaces are very limited.

Successful cadets will take part in summer camps, community events, fitness activities, and will learn about police procedures and the law.

The group will be run by police officers, police community support officers and community safety representatives, and has been funded by Hertfordshire Constabulary and Hertsmere Borough Council.

Specialist departments such as Air Support and the Dog Section will also be giving talks to the group.

Meets will be held every second Wednesday evening between 7pm and 9pm at Meryfield School in Theobald Street, Borehamwood.

They will cost £2 per session, with extra fees for camps and other activities.

Application forms can be handed in to Bushey Police Station or posted to PC Ross Paybody, Borehamwood Police Station, Elstree Way, Borehamwood, Herts WD6 1JP.

Forms can be obtained by emailing PC Paybody at ross.paybody2@herts.pnn.police.uk.
