Abbots Langley villagers consider new benches

Residents across Abbots Langley are being asked where new benches in the village should be placed.

Following a local area forum in June last year, attending residents voted for new benches.

Since then, Three Rivers District Council has launched a consultation asking villagers where they would like the benches to be placed.

The proposed locations for the new benches are at the bottom of Hyde Lane and Woodland Road, and Tibbs Hill Road and Summer House Way.

Paid for by the Abbots Langley Area Forum Grant of £2,000, how this grant is spent is decided by residents at the local area forum meetings.

Councillor Paul Goggins said: “We are consulting the people in Abbots Langley as we want to know what residents in the vicinity feel before making final decisions as to locations - we won’t go ahead unless residents are in favour.

“We have also replaced old benches at Gallows Hill and Abbots Road junction, at the request of the forum.”

To comment on the proposed new benches telephone the democratic services team on 01923 776611 or email enquiries@threerivers.gov.uk.

Deadline for comments is at the end of March.
