A safe containing two diamond rings and “thousands of pounds worth of jewellery” has been stolen from a home in Sarratt.
The residents returned home to find a burglar had forced their way in and taken several items.
Police believe the burglary occurred between 4.50pm on Thursday March 4 and when the residents returned home just after midnight on March 5.
Inside the stolen safe was a ladies’ 18-carat yellow gold ring, set with an oval cut, bluish green emerald, four baguette cut diamonds and twelve cut diamonds.
It also contained a white gold ring set with one oval Marquise cut diamond and 54 cut diamonds, arranged in a starburst formation.
Investigator Jordan Carter, said: ““This burglary has caused a considerable amount of distress for the homeowners and I would urge anyone who has any information, or who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in Sarratt to come forward to help with our investigation.
“Also, I would like to talk to anyone who may have been offered these rings for sale. Handling stolen goods is a crime.”
