Rickmansworth firefighters will be washing cars as part of The Fire Fighters' Charity National Car Wash

Rickmansworth firefighters will be directing their hoses towards some unusual targets this weekend, as they join volunteers across the country in The Fire Fighters' Charity National Car Wash.

There is no fixed price for the service but donations can be made to the charity, which works to preserve the quality of life for serving and retired Fire Service personnel and their families.

Keith Emsall, executive member for community safety and culture, said: "The Firefighters Charity provide an invaluable service, we are pleased to be able to support them and help raise vital funds for their work."

The event takes place on Saturday at Rickmansworth Fire Station, Rectory Road, Rickmansworth WD3 1FJ, between 10am and 4pm.
