Children that attend a preschool in Abbots Langley will have a new range of toys to play with thanks to the assistance of a Hertfordshire County Councillor.
Liberal Democrat councillor Paul Goggins, whose ward is Abbots Langley, has allocated £370.78 to Breakspeare Community Pre-school from his locality budget, to spend on toys including a digital camera suitable for children, a pirate ship and playmat, a farm playmate, a set of traffic lights, push along trucks and more.
Locality budgets were launched in July, with funding to be used for worthy social, economic or environmental causes in Hertfordshire.
The pre-school, based on Langley Road, is open four mornings a week and has over 60 children on their books. Fees are kept as low as possible to encourage more families to attend its sessions.
Amanda Ricciardi, pre-school leader, said: “The children are really enjoying playing with the new camera and other toys.”
Paul Goggins said: “The new equipment will help to extend and enhance the children’s learning and enjoyment at the pre-school.”
