A driver was taken to Watford General Hospital this morning after his car left the road near the town centre and ploughed down an embankment into a garden fence.
The man, who was driving a black Vauxhall Astra, was travelling along Stephenson Way toward the Tesco roundabout at about 10.50am when the accident happened.
His car left the road just before the railway bridge and came to rest in the back garden of a house in Woolmerdine Court.
The man was freed from the wreckage of his car by firefighters, paramedics, and ambulance crews before being taken to Watford General Hospital.
Police closed the road at the junction with Waterfields Way but has now reopened it.
Two other people, a woman and a child, were also taken to hospital. None, however, is thought to have sustained serious injuries.
