SARACENS will discover on Tuesday when Glen Jackson will be joining up with the squad after Graham Henry announces the All Blacks touring party for the forthcoming Autumn internationals.

The Bay of Plenty stand-off, who turns 29 tomorrow (Saturday, October 23), is due to arrive in the UK on Thursday to commence his one-year contract with the Men in Black and has been pencilled in by head coach Rod Kafer for the match against Bath on November.

But Jackson has been tipped for a call-up to the New Zealand squad, extended to 32 members yesterday (Thursday, October 21) to cover for injuries at hooker and fly-half, which would postpone his arrival until the end of November when their four-matches European Tour is completed.

Jackson has also indicated in an interview with the New Zealand Herald that, should he be selected, he would seek a release clause in his contract with Saracens, enabling him to take part in next year's Super 12 with Waikato Chiefs and remain in contention for selection.

However, Jackson currently appears fourth in the pecking order behind Andrew Merhtens, Daniel Carter and Aaron Mauger and Sarries are understood to be confident that he will be joining them sooner rather than later.

"It would be great for Glen if he was selected for the All Blacks and we would naturally make him available," said chief executive Mark Sinderberry. "But he is under contract to us for the next 12 months and, should he be called up, we fully expect him to join up with us after the Autumn internationals."
