A day's ironing pays off for tsunami appeal

EXTREME ironing found a new home on Saturday when Asda in St Albans Road, north Watford, hosted a flat-out session to raise funds for tsunami victims.

Will Holbrook, 24, the manager of a climbing centre in Amersham, spent the day ironing while suspended from the rafters of the store throughout the day, which had customers in creases.

Surprised shoppers were asked to dip into their pockets and donate to the appeal.

Mr Holbrook said: "I was happy to help a very worthy cause. Hopefully we'll raise a fair bit of money. Normally I don't do the ironing, I get my mum to do it, but I've made an exception today. It's been a lot of fun."
