BLOCKBUSTERS host Bob Holness was at Watersmeet this week to help raise £300,000 for the Rickmansworth theatre.
Mr Holness, who lives in Hatch End, hosted two pledge sessions at the theatre on Monday night. The money will be used to finance the theatre in its first year of management by an independent trust.
So far, the Watersmeet Trust has raised £4,365 in pledges ,with a further £1,173 to come in Gift Aid. Those who were unable to attend can still make a donation by completing a pledge form available at Watersmeet or by e-mailing watersmeetherts@hotmail.com.
There will be more fundraising events over the next few months, including a Watersmeet Trust Charity Golf Day at Moor Park on Wednesday, July 23.
