In thanking the Times Group for its coverage of the Darlands Lake issue, may I clarify a possible misconception.
Dog walkers are important users of our nature reserves they are our daily eyes and ears, reporting disturbances and other essential matters.
None of our 60 nature reserves in London are regulated by draconian laws. It is nevertheless hoped that dog owners will keep dogs under control, now a national law.
One unthinking action and lack of control of a dog can ruin our efforts to encourage a range of breeding birds or plant life in any nature reserve or green space.
