ESSEX trading standards officers are warning parents about potential strangulation risk from the latest toy craze, Yo-Yo Balls.

The toys have been banned by the Government after tests showed that they could pose a risk of strangulation.

County council plannin, enterprise and regeneration member Colin Finn said: "These Yo-Yo Balls present a risk to children and should be removed from sale.

"Parents whose children already own Yo-Yo Balls should be aware of the potential harm these toys can casuse and dispose of them safely."

The Yo-Yo Balls are made of a transparent rubber material and consist of a liquid filled ball with an attached rubber strap having a small finger loop at the end. They are highly elastic and can be stretched to great lengths.
