By denying that he blamed the pensions crisis on pensioners living for too long, Andrew Dismore MP (Bill would benefit only the super-rich', Letters, April 3) shows he is clearly a graduate of the Stephen Byers' school of English . In his Soap Box article published in your paper on January 23 he stated quite clearly and unequivocally that 'the underlying cause is a good one on average we're all living longer'.

If the proposed Bill on pensions reform only benefits the super-rich, as Mr Dismore claims, then I assume he has written to Labour MPs telling them they don't understand the legislation either. It must be a great burden for Mr Dismore to be the only person with the intellectual ability to comprehend this issue.
