A PARTNERSHIP which will make a significant contribution to local housing was cemented last week when Watford Councillor Andy Wylie and Three Rivers Councillor Matthew Bedford signed the Housing and Regeneration Initiative (Hari) Partnership Agreement.
Both councillors are portfolio holders for housing for their respective authorities.
The Hari partnership initiative brings together, for the first time, all the organisations that have responsibility for providing social housing within the Watford and Three Rivers area.
As well as the two councils, members will include the Housing Corporation and all the Housing Associations with homes in the area.
Commenting on the formation of the partnership, Councillor Andy Wylie says: "It is good to know that Watford and Three Rivers are the first to take this innovative step in meeting our communities need for social housing."
Councillor Matthew Bedford said: "There is no doubt that Hari has required a great deal of time, vision and commitment from all the partners involved.
"But the effort has paid off in terms of being able to increase our affordable housing development programme."
