THE Government must put domestic violence at the top of the political agenda, St Albans MP Kerry Pollard has urged.
As a member of Westminster's All Party Parliamentary Group on Domestic Violence, Mr Pollard called for more funding for women's refuges at a recent meeting.
He said: "Women's refuges across the country are reliant on fundraising to carry out their work.
"It is imperative now that they receive government funding."
The group is currently pursuing the issue of better funding with the Chancellor, Gordon Brown.
