MORE than a hundred postal workers were evacuated when a suspect package was discovered at the Royal Mail depot in Old Ascot Road on Monday morning.

A bomb squad and police were called to the Watford site after the alarm was raised at about 8.30am. Staff milled around outside until the parcel was checked and then given the all clear at 9.10am when they returned to work.

An employee said a package, believed to have been sent by animal rights activists, had caused a small explosion at the depot about nine years ago.
