A MEMBER of the Royal family is to visit members of the Watford Social Centre for the Blind on Thursday to celebrate the club's 50th anniversary.
His Royal Highness The Duke of Gloucester will join about 70 people for festivities at the centre in Croff Road for half an hour from 10.30am.
Club chairman Susan Harper said: "We are extremely privileged to have him and are looking forward to his visit.
"It's nice to have a second royal visit in 50 years of the blind centre."
The centre which is a social club where blind people meet several times a week for games, talks, entertainment and to arrange outings and holidays was opened by the late Princess Marine and Duchess of Kent in 1951.
