I am totally bemused by the current Barnet FC ground situation.
As a neutral, it seems that Barnet Council will not be content until they can achieve international status by rivalling the fiascos at Wembley and Picketts Lock.
I do appreciate what the council's stated motivations are, but I am not impressed by its efforts to keep the club within the borough.
Should Barnet FC decide that they have had enough and seek an alternative location outside the borough, I trust that the council will redevelop the existing stadium site back into a green open area.
However, being sceptical about politicians of all persuasions, I see a new housing or commercial development appearing which miraculously would have none of the environmental impacts currently concerning the council.
Come on both Barnet FC and Barnet Council.
The club is not a political issue nor can it be allowed to decline further.
The people of Barnet are watching both of you and will judge your actions and competence, not your statements.
