Saracens today (Wednesday, June 26) confirmed that Kris Chesney, their long serving back-row forward, has agreed to extend his stay at the club by another three years.

The 28-year-old, seen as an integral member of the Sarries' pack, joined the club in 1995 and has since made 137 appearances for the men in black.

Chesney, yet to win a full cap for his country, was also part of the Barbarians' squad and scored a try in the win over Scotland earlier this month.

"We have a great atmosphere and I always wanted to stay," said Chesney. "Saracens is a great club, I'm well looked after and have loads of mates here. I never considered going to a different club, but in many respects with a new coach, new players coming in and new ideas, Sarries is almost a new club."

The news of Chesney's re-signing come as a further boost to Sarries, who have already secured the services of Craig Quinnell, Christian Califano, Andy Goode, Joe Ross and Johnny Marsters in a bid to reverse their wretched fortunes over the past two seasons."
