TAKING a break from their league programme, OAs travelled to Beaconsfield for a friendly with the coaching staff's experimental line-up comfortably wining 18-7.

Although this was a friendly fixture, there was plenty of niggle in the forward exchanges and OAs hooker Davy spent some time in the sin-bin as OAs' failed to convert pressure in points.

Beaconsfield took the lead with a converted score after a bruising charge from their prop-forward although OAs' levelled matters when prop Ed Knighton rumbled over for a try converted by Jon Long.

Former OA Colt and Verulam schoolboy Richard Grey marked his first team debut with an excellent second half performance.

His first of two interceptions saw Grey running in to score while his second interception led to Nicky Miller touching down.

OAs are back in league action on Saturday, December 22, at high-flying Hertford.
