TALKS between St Albans City FC chairman, Lee Harding, and the supporters' club appear to have reached a standstill after the two groups met on Thursday, October 25, to discuss the controversial chairman's plans to instigate a committee-run club.
A group of six supporters, including former City vice-president Peter Lewis and supporter's club chairman Ian Rogers, met with Harding to relay the outcome of a special supporters meeting in which the fans voted not too work with Harding unless he reduced his shareholding in the club to around 35 per cent.
Even though Harding has offered to sell 45 per cent of his shares for £45,000, there appears no party able, or willing, to meet his price, leaving the situation between club and fans back at square one.
Although Harding was not available for comment, Peter Lewis believes the talks were of value.
He said: "I am disappointed that common ground could not be found but it is good that lines of communication are open.
"The chairman did make it clear that the present situation means that economies would have to be made but hopefully we will talk again soon."
