TWO men caught with more than 5,000 ecstasy tablets and three and a half kilos of amphetamine on the M25 near Watford have been sentenced to seven years and five years in jail.

The drugs, worth £75,000 were found when a Mercedes was pulled over on to the hard shoulder near Hunton Bridge on Valentine's Day.

Three men were in the car, but one has since disappeared.

Anthony Debrett, 46, from Newton Abbots in Devon, came before Luton Crown Court on Monday and pleaded guilty to possessing drugs with intent to supply.

He was jailed for five years.

Meon Dawson, 26, from Liverpool, denied the same charges at Luton Crown Court but was convicted by a jury.

He was sentenced to seven years but maintained his innocence.
