January 24, 2001 17:27: I wish to comment on the letter from Councillor Morris Bright which appeared in the Borehamwood Times on January 11.
Councillor Bright was elected as a Conservative member of Hertsmere Borough Council in May 1999. Since then he has been a regular contributor to the Borehamwood Times, either through the letters page or by being quoted in the news columns.
Councillor Bright has a a particular style in his letters, most containing personal attacks on Labour councillors, Bryan Stanley in particular. In this most recent attack, Councillor Bright has made several allegations.
According to Morris Bright, Councillor Stanley made an honourable gesture and offered his resignation. Having known Bryan Stanley for most of my life, I can testify that he does not resign from anything! If Councillor Stanley was contemplating resigning from any of the bodies on which he serves, believe me, I would be the first to know!
Mrs Eileen Stanley,
Furzehill Road,
Borehamwood.
