A CHILDREN'S drama group has raised £500 for charity by performing its latest production in front of 300 family and friends at Beaumont School.
The Rising Stars group, which consists of 80 children aged between five and 12, performed an original piece entitled 21st Century Dreams in order to raise money for the Childline children's charity.
Ms Melanie Watts, from Childline London, said: 'BT figures tell us that every week, on average, we receive 145 calls from St Albans postcodes, but, owing to a lack of funds, only 33 of these can be answered.'
The money raised will go towards helping Childline achieve its goal of answering every call.
