A TRULY English way to spend the August bank holiday has been promised by the Redbourn Millennium committee.
It has organised a special cricket match, pitching Redbourn's finest against competitors from the Hollybush public house.
The teams will don their whites and hopefully score a few runs for the challenge match which begins at 2pm.
And to ensure that non-cricket fans do not get bored, a summer fete will also be held on The Common.
Featuring a bouncy castle, barbecue and a whole host of stalls and attractions, the fete which starts at 12.30pm, should have something for all the family.
Organisers are hoping for some late summer sunshine and residents' support to make the outdoor event a success, as all proceeds will be distributed among the Redbourn community.
