THREE teenagers have been arrested following arson attacks in Watford and South Oxhey earlier this month.

A 14-year-old, from Watford, and two 17-year-olds, of no fixed address, were arrested on Wednesday, and are in custody in Hemel Hempstead.

The first arson attack took place at 1.45am on Wednesday, August 2, when three bottles filled with white spirit and a burning rag were thrown at a kitchen window of a house in Colne Avenue, Watford.

Two of the bottles went through the window, and one fell short, causing a fireball outside the house.

Inside the home were an 11-year-old boy, a 13-year-old boy, a 21-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman - none of whom were harmed.

Police say there was little damage caused by the attack.

The second incident occured the following night, on Thursday, August 3, at a house in Ilkley Road, South Oxhey.

Two bottles containing flammable liquid were thrown at a front window of the house at 3.48am.

The window was smashed, and one bottle shattered and set light to the window frame and outside wall. The other bottle did not ignite.

The attack happened while a 35-year-old woman, a 55-year-old woman and an 11-year-old child were asleep in the house.
